This ancient habit of "fuxicar" has again had space in modern life. With it, it is possible to make beautiful and precious handmade pieces that range from carpets to the famous bedspreads of fuxico.
United one by one, the fuxicos are forming designs and varied forms. And there's fuxico! For a single quilt it takes about 500 fuxics, depending on the size it is made and the way the quilt is fitted.
Yes, it is true, it takes a little time for you to visualize the work ready, but considering the anxious, accelerated and immediate world we have today, devoting to something slower and self-paced can mean real therapy. At the end you will see that it was worth the wait to have a unique, original and high symbolic piece. Not to mention that the cost of such work is almost zero. You will need only tissue, needle and thread flaps.
So, separate the necessary materials that we will teach you in this post step by step to make a beautiful bedspread.
How to Make a Fuxico Quilt
Making a bedspread is very simple. First of all, you need to set the size of the quilt and the shape you want to give it. The larger the bed and the more the quilt you have, the more you will need. Some quilts, for example, are made with the fuxicos only at the top, others, on the contrary, are totally made of fuxico. Another important detail: you can use an older quilt and restore it with the application of fuxicos.
The color of the fuxicos will be important if you intend to create some shape in the quilt, like flowers, squares or rectangles. If this is your intention, define the colors that will be used and the approximate amount of yoffs for each color.
But you can also choose to make an entire quilt colorful and without any specific shape, the result is equally beautiful.
Calculation of the number of yo-yo
To calculate approximately how many gypsies you will need, have the full measure of the quilt ready. Then make a square (do not worry about the shape, the square is just to help calculate) with the yo-yos and count how many were used.
For example, suppose you want to make a double side trim with a total trim of 1.98m by 2.60m. A square of fuxicos of 0.30cm by 0,30 will have 25 fuxicos. Then calculate the number of squares required to form the quilt, in this case 63 squares of 0.30cm by 0.30cm. Finally, multiply the number of squares times the number of yo-yos that fit in each square. The final calculation will result in 1575 fuxicos.
After defining all these questions, begin to make the fuxicos. Do not know how to make yo-yo? Alright, we separated a step by step here in the post and some videos to help you. Check out:
